Public Transportation

JEFFTRAN or Jefferson City Transit Division serves as the public transit for the city. It offers six routes throughout the city, along with a separate transit for the physically-challenged called Handi-Wheels.

The Missouri Department of Transportation also provides courses within and outside of the town.

The nearest airport is the Jefferson City Memorial, which lies two miles away from Jefferson in Callaway County, Missouri.

The Jefferson City AMTRAK can be found on the former Union Hotel's ground floor and only has one platform for use to nearby cities and towns.

Education

The Commerce City School District serves Commerce and the nearby communities in Jackson County. Teaching from grades Pre-school to 12, they operate two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. With 1,358 enrolled students, the district spends an approximate $9,418 per student.

The city is also served by the Commerce Public Library, a part of the Piedmont Regional Library System. 


Climate
